Ceren Zor
Senior Battery Scientist
Ceren has a strong background in electrochemistry and materials characterisation, complemented by extensive laboratory experience. At About:Energy, she is focused on developing and refining scientific processes, as well as enhancing data acquisition methodologies.
Prior to joining About:Energy, Ceren led R&D efforts at a battery materials manufacturing start-up and focused on activities towards commercialisation of a new material. She holds a DPhil (PhD) and MSc in Materials from the University of Oxford, where her doctoral research explored mediated charging and degradation mechanisms in lithium-air batteries. Before her postgraduate studies, she earned undergraduate degrees in both Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
Ceren advocates for a diversified approach to battery chemistries, emphasising the importance of matching the right battery technology to the appropriate application. She believes this strategy is essential for optimising resource use, minimising costs, and advancing progress toward net-zero goals.
