Tesla's tabless Model Y cell stores five times the energy of a standard 21700 and charges fast enough for automotive duty. But bigger is not always better. We pulled cells from a Munro teardown, put them through the About:Energy lab, and the data shows what the tabless design actually changes for performance, thermal behaviour and cell longevity.
